Brasil Missionaries

We received an email update on Jim and Peggy, Ryan's parents, that are serving in the Campinas Temple in Brasil. They have had a chance to travel a bit and see a little more of the country with Easter and a two week closure in Mid May. They were able to attend the open house for the Curitiba Temple. President Monson was there, accompanied by Russell M. Nelson. The Campinas temple President, President and Sister Noguiera, were invited to attend the dedication and were able to sit with in the Celestial Room of a beautiful new temple in their country of Brasil with the Prophet so near to them. Jim and Peggy were able to attend a broadcast of the dedication, but was a special experience having just attended the open house. They were also able to visit with some Mesa friends who came in for the dedication. Their father served as the first mission president in Curitiba in the 80's.

Curitiba Temple

They have said the Campinas Temple continues to be quiet on many days with very few patrons, although they do have days when many people come to the temple. The month of July will be another month of holiday from school and they anticipate being very busy throughout that month. They have become accustomed to quieter days, but really love it when the temple is overflowing with people and they have alot to do. On the quieter days they do what work they can amongst themselves.

June marked their 7 month out and they will return next May. We surely miss them, but are thankful for their emails, service and the good example that they set for us. We love you!
